Letter To Edwin Lascelles - 1762
This is an extract from a letter to Edwin Lascelles, written by an Estate Steward [Ref: HAR/SC/5 f5].
Hon. Sir,
…This fine morning sets us a plowing for seed; you was pleased to say that when I lay any more ground to grass you would send your seeds from London, there is 3 fields of Stables’ and one of Cockets’ now turnips which I thought of laying this year because should you get Stephen harrisons ground another year we shall have more plowing ground than we can well get over if you chuse to have those fields laid only for 4 or 5 years and then to take up again. I can proune seeds here, if they are to be laid good, I will as soon as you signifie your pleasure to me proceed accordingly.
I am honoured sir,
Faithfully humble servant
